Five years of inspections reform in Serbia

USAID Cooperation for Growth Project supports the Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-government in inspections reform, started five years ago.

On Tuesday, October 22, a coordination meeting “Five years of inspections reform in Serbia and the next reform steps” was organized at the initiative of the Ministry, along with a session of the Coordination Commission.

Beside the Coordination Commission members, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and USAID Cooperation for Growth Project, the meeting was attended by other donors and organizations that are part of the supporting team: Embassy of Kingdom of Norway, Embassy of Kingdom of Sweden, Embassy of Italy, Swiss Development Cooperation Office, EU IBE project, OSCE Serbia, GIZ, UK Good Governance Fund, NALED and Inspections Network of Serbia.

The Coordination Commission presented the previous achievements of the reform, which was followed by talks about the current projects, next steps and support needed in the upcoming period. Representatives of the USAID Cooperation for Growth Project pointed out of the USAID’s role in initiating the reform and introduction of the comprehensive IT system, expressing willingness to continue to support the reform, particularly in the area of digitalization and with narrowing the focus to selected industries and groups of industries.

We are proud to be part of the team on such an important task. We are continuing to support the Ministry, as well as improvements in other segments of the business environment in Serbia.
